Ken Rasch
After graduating from Alfred Tech, I was asked to join the Army and spent two years in Germany. I received my BS degree in mechanical engineering from RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology), and have worked at Xerox Corporation in Webster, New York, for the past 35 years and still counting. I currently manage two design teams, have 13 patents, and specialize in heat transfer and statistics. Thanks to Xerox I have traveled extensively throughout Europe, Japan, and China. I worked at Xerox with both Dave Fish (retired / downsized) and the late Doug Berner.
I’m married to a wonderful woman named Anne and we have 5 children collectively that we managed somehow to get successfully through college. Four are scattered around the Rochester area with the only deserter (sane one) recently moving to Cary, N.C. We have a basement full of furniture at our home in Fairport and are privileged to have Anne's ninety-year-old father, Giovanni, living with us, along with a damn cat. We opened our own business “Foot Solutions,” a custom shoe store that caters to individuals with foot problems two years ago.
Through Xerox, I’m involved in the Science Consultant Program, and teach science in the inner city. Hobbies include boating, fishing, gardening, bowling, woodworking, day trading, wine making, and reading. I retired from a golf league a few years past, but slap a few around a couple times a year. My current new hobby is “roof raking,” for those of you acquainted with Rochester winters.
